Organic art is about nature, life and circularity. My work is perceived as organic, which is expressed in my choice of materials, the making process and eventually, the shape. My inspiration is fueled by humans, animals, nature and anything I come across along the way.
I was in my mid-thirties when I started my education at Utrecht School of the Arts, it was a delightful time, with plenty of room to experiment and explore. Slowly moving towards creating new shapes, touching themes such as continuity, infinity and stillness. Themes that remain to play an important role in my pieces and process. The most flattering compliment anyone can give me is that one of my sculptures moves them, evokes something, raises a positive association or recognition.
